Landfill gas production results from chemical reactions and microbes acting upon the waste as the putrescible materials begins to break down in the landfill. The gases produced within the landfill can be collected flared off or used to produce heat or electricity.

What is LANDFILL Leachate ?

Water that has percolated through a solid and leached out landfill of municipal waste or industrial waste
Matters : The risks from landfill leachate are due to its high organic contaminate concentrations and high concentration of ammonia. Toxic substances may however be present in variable concentration and their presence is related to the nature of waste deposited.
